TIME TO LIGHT A FIRE -- NOW! We're Still Waiting to Hear Mayor Dickens' Plan
Let's get together and decide the next steps in the fight to get Atlanta back on track to a more equitable, affordable & environmentally-friendly (less car-dependent) future.
Whether you're new to the BeltLine rail conversation or have helped during the last 20 years, BeltLine Rail Now needs your input now more than ever.
BRN is a grassroots, volunteer organization educating, advocating (and willing to stir the pot) to make Atlanta a better place for all of us.
We need to hear your concerns and ideas on how to best hold our elected officials accountable for delivering BeltLine rail. This is the City of Atlanta's plan for population growth management and the central component of economic development along the Atlanta BeltLine. Sadly, our previous mayor, City Council & MARTA leadership failed to take action to adequately advance the project. So it's currently 10 years behind schedule.
Where do things stand?
Mayor Andre Dickens made BeltLine rail a priority but hasn't provided details.
A majority of the current City Council is on record in support of speeding up delivery.
MARTA is looking for a new CEO and General Manager. We want one who understands why BeltLine transit really needs to be light rail.
BRN is a grassroots organization. Public input is needed at the May 15 meeting, as we decide where to focus next.
